Earlier today Rob Levin, also known online as 'lilo' was hit by a car while riding his bike, and died in the hospital.  The announcement was posted on the freenode site at http://freenode.net/news.shtml.  For background, he founded and managed the Freenode network, which is home to online discussion, development, and community help for various projects, technical and otherwise, including Ubuntu.
